Hospitality Ministry
"Do not neglect to show hospitality, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it."
Hebrews 13:2
Looking for a hot cup of coffee or a place for a friendly conversation? Our hospitality ministry enjoys welcoming people by providing Sunday morning coffee, juice and refreshments, preparing and serving monthly Wednesday fellowship meals, and providing leadership and service at a variety of seasonal fellowship meals throughout the year.
Homebound Visitation
"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40
Our homebound visitation ministry is made up of people just like you and me who enjoy visiting those connected to our church family who are not able to come to church or its various ministries. Through our Covenant Partners ministry, each indentified member is paired with another member who visits regularly, shares in birthdays and anniversaries and becomes a special friend. At the heart of this ministry is the belief that when you cannot come to church then the church will come to you! Additionally, each UMW (United Methodist Women) Circle is connected with each of our homebound members and provides signs of love and friendship throughout the year.
American Red Cross Blood Drives
"Greater love has on one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13
Covenant Church is deeply involved in the community in which it is located. We also believe that it is part of our Christian witness to live out that which we believe. It is with this in mind that we have chosen to partner with the American Red Cross to bi-monthly blood drives at Covenant Church. Volunteers serve as greeters, coordinate the appointments, provide food for the canteen and serve as canteen coordinators. Blood donors come from all over High Point to participate and have made Covenant's blood drives one of the most successful in the city.
Bereavement Meals
Let love be genuine; love one another with mutual affection; rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering...contribute to the needs of the saints." Romans 12:9-13
When a member of our church family dies, the whole community experiences a loss. We want to reach out and care for one another. One of the most tangible ways that the church responds is by offering a meal to the bereaved family soon after a loved one's death. It is the ministry of our bereavement team to coordinate and gather food from a host of volunteers, serve the meal and clean up from the meal as an act of love on behalf of the church.
